8 Aug – Poker
Yet another frustrating day. Within the first hour I was up 600$ and I was actually crushing pretty hard. I started playing some Trance music from Youtube and it helped me to focus quite well. Towards the later part I started running super bad, a lot of spots where I can’t really fold (like overpair vs set in 3bet pot). Looks like I have to work doubly hard with the grinding and my game.
Hands: 4492
Profit: $4.50

I feel that many of my opponents are just misplaying so many spots that it’s completely ridiculous for me to lose :S
1) I was a little frustrated with this hand. I don’t have much info on villain. Maybe I should just c/r right away and hope for the best since I have no idea about his barreling tendencies. The Turn sucks ass for me so I think my best option is to pot Turn and River to go for max value from KX and not let KX pot control. I wouldn’t be sure how to react to a raise though, since he could very easily overplay a small flush. Probably not folding at any point. Maybe as played I could c/r a little smaller to 53 and fold to the all in (a boat is never shoving)

2) This was vs some fish. I was actually quite afraid when he first shipped but decided that the board was so low and that this guy is a one-tabling recreational player. Wouldn’t be out of the question for him to take this stupid line to protect his hand.

4) This guy was a tight reg. I have no idea why he chooses to overplay his hand in this manner. Firstly I would fold AA-QQ very often vs this guy’s turn raise (cos these guys rarely do it without 2p+). Maybe he turns it into a bluff? But it seems such a stupid play to turn AJ into a bluff when he could pick many worse hands to do it with (AJ is close to the top of his range). On the River I don’t get why he’s shoving since I’m always folding KK/QQ (if i somehow did not bet/fold the Turn) and I would never fold AA/KQ and i would always fold my busted flush draws.

6) This guy squeezes a lot. Him flatting the 4bet with KJo is very bad IMO. Flop hits villain’s range hard and I want to pot control anyway so I check and delay my 2barrels.

8) BU was full of it and my squeeze looks really strong when there’s a cold caller in the blinds. The SB recreational player surprises me with an all-in (which could easily be any midpair hoping to dodge a high card Flop) so I was never going to fold.

nice although i dont get your cbet sizing in that 4bet spot with aces.
that guy is bad, and we were deep. saw no reason to bet 33-40% of pot. Just go for more value on earlier streets so he would have a harder time folding later on.
